Highlights:
- The Temple of Habu
- Luxor Temple
- Valley of the Queens
- Valley of the Nobles
- Dendera
- Abydos
Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Luxor – West Bank
We will pick you up early from your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and drive the 230 km from Safaga to Luxor. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the desert landscape with its volcanic-like mountains, sculpted by nature, before arriving in the Nile Valley. Here, you’ll get an authentic glimpse into the daily life of rural villages along the Nile.
Upon arrival in Luxor, your first visit will be to the Memorial Temple of Ramses III, considered the last spark of the golden age of the great pharaohs. Next, you’ll explore the Tombs of the Nobles, marveling at colors that have survived for thousands of years (two tombs included).
In Thebes West, you’ll savor the delicious taste of freshly prepared Egyptian specialties for lunch.
Later, you’ll be amazed by the beautifully decorated, multicolored tombs in the Valley of the Queens.
A motorboat ride on the Nile (approx. 30 minutes) will allow you to take in the stunning riverside scenery before checking into your hotel in East Luxor for the night.
In the evening, a horse-drawn carriage will take you to the Luxor Temple, where you’ll witness its breathtaking beauty illuminated at night.
Day 2: Luxor – Karnak & Abydos
Today, we’ll turn the pages of ancient Egyptian history as we explore the Karnak Temple Complex, where stories are carved into its towering columns and walls (full 3-hour visit).
After lunch in East Luxor, we’ll head to the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, built by Seti I, where the earliest canonical laws of art and architecture were established.
We’ll spend the night at a hotel in Abydos (modern Sohag).
Day 3: Dendera – Return to Hurghada
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Dendera, home to the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of beauty and magic. In ancient times, this site served as an astronomical study center. The Zodiac relief on the temple’s second floor is even better preserved than the one displayed in the Louvre Museum in Paris. According to ancient belief, this Zodiac connected heaven and earth.
At the end of this unforgettable journey (Luxor → Dendera → Abydos), we’ll begin our return trip to Hurghada.
